RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH is affiliated to the Compensatory Fund of Securities Trading Companies (EdW), Markgrafenstraße 45, 10117 Berlin. EdW is the competent compensation institution under the German Investor Compensation Act (AnlEntG). The AnlEntG contains the provisions on any claims for compensation against the EdW if the institution is unable to meet liabilities arising from securities transactions. It also regulates the scope of any claim for compensation. According to the AnlEntG, liabilities from securities transactions are protected up to 90% of their value, but not more than €20,000 per creditor. The claim for compensation does not exist if funds are not denominated in the currency of an EU member state or in euros. It only covers obligations from securities transactions that are part of the institution's main contractual obligations (primary obligations). Claims for damages arising from advisory errors, for example, are not covered. Not protected are certain investors, such as credit institutions and financial service providers, insurance companies, medium-sized and large corporations, and public-sector enterprises. Insofar as the compensation scheme meets the compensation claim of a beneficiary, the latter's claims against the institution are transferred to it.
